Wow...

So much has been happening these past few weeks! Last weekend was our trip to Segovia, where there's a famous Aqueduct, Catedral, and Alcazar (supposedly the Disney Castle was based off of this). We didn't go inside the cathedral, but toured the Alcazar and walked up the crazy tall narrow tower to see an amazing view from the top. It was SO cold here, but a lot of beautiful things to see and some very good hot chocolate (:

Next cool thing was Valentine's Day. Jessi & I (mostly Jessi) made cake balls for a valentimes party baking competition thing. Juana thought we were insane and didn't think they would work, but was pleasantly surprised when they turned out AWESOME.

And well the next day I got a root canal. My entire mouth decided to wage war against me once I got to Spain. I was a little nervous but the dentist speaks English well & it would seem that in Spain their anesthetic is MUCH stronger with a lot less painful shots. Went well considering I had no laughing gas or headrest during the 2 hours. And some wonderful girls accompanied me to make sure I got home safe (hey thanks again Jessi, Janeen, & Whitney!).
Thursday was our trip to the temple for the first time as a group! It's so weird going from the busy subway in the middle of the city and the second you walk into the little plaza everything seems calm and peaceful and there's a temple. I didn't take any pictures, but for sure will next time. Especially since I now have a bunch of cute church outfits, thank you Espana and las Rebajas de Febrero!
Friday we visited a modern art exhibit, ArtMadrid12, for one of our classes. Basically I have no words to describe it except incredible. I could have spent the entire day there, but settled for a few hours. We even got to talk to an artist who had her works displayed there. A few of the millions I saw and loved:
Mariscal
Malgorzata Jankowska
Adolfo Morales

Today we visited the little town of Cuenca, with "hanging houses". Not a whole ton of history to learn about in this town, or art to view, but I'm so glad we got to visit it! It has houses that hang off the cliffs and are literally a part of the mountain, so amazing. Just spent the day walking around and trying to overcome my fear of heights, climbing and Spanish version of hiking, and even got tan from lying in the sun while some real classy hombres with Kermit the frog and old pirate voices yelled obscenities at Janeen and I (:

That's a statue of Jesus on the top of that mountain. Looked a lot bigger from afar in person.
And well I'm really super crazy tired right now and don't have the patience to fix the pictures or remember any other cool stuff. First time I've stayed up later than my roomie in weeks, prolly. So yeah in case I don't say it enough, I have the most wonderful roommate I could have hoped for. Not sure how I got so lucky to have the most drama-free and caring girl EVER as a roommate, but I did. Yeah, "RUBIA!" I'm talking to you. Sorry I'm such a punk, don't hesitate to tell me to shut up. Oh wait....
She even lets me borrow her frickin cute clothes!
(those are 4 inch heels I'm wearing, by the way)
